Featuring
the ultimate collaboration of Philadelphia’s
own world-renowned crystal designer Peter Yenawine
and Master Cutter Jan Lewczenko.
The
second in a series of major museum and gallery exhibitions,
the work combines Peter’s love of nature and
Jan’s meticulous attention to detail, and takes
the age old art of crystal cutting to a new level.
These magical, one-of-a-kind, botanical crystal sculptures
will be on display at the National
Liberty Museum, 321 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia
PA 19106, March 4 - April 25, 2004.
Mr
Yenawine has held a long list of prestigious international
positions, including Master Designer at Steuben Glass,
Director of Design at Swarovski Crystal, and has had
numerous freelance affiliations with Daum, St. Louis,
Baccarat, Val St. Lambert and other major crystalleries
around the world. He has been commissioned by the
last five White Houses to design and create numerous
Gifts of State. Peter has also served as Director
of Design at the Franklin Mint and has recently founded
Crystal
Signatures, the studio responsible for the design
and creation of the 2000 ESPY Award, The Record Industry
Association of America’s Diamond Award, The
Marion Anderson Award, The Paradigm Award, and all
awards for Major League Soccer and WUSA.
Mr
Lewczenko, after a ten-year apprenticeship, earned
the Masters Award from the Glass Industry of Poland.
His skilled hands have created the Inaugural Bowl
given to George H. Bush on the eve of his presidency
and numerous crystal masterpieces gracing corporate
and private art collections around the world.
Together
the artists created the Memorial to the Heroes of
9/11. This magnificent crystal sculpture of the Twin
Towers, now installed at the National Liberty Museum
in Philadelphia, was commissioned by Irvin Borowski,
founder of the museum. |
